Spanning the Lingding Ocean, Linking the Greater Bay Area

On June 30, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, one of the world’s most challenging cross-sea cluster projects, officially opened! This monumental engineering feat stretches across the Lingdingyang waters of the Pearl River Delta, situated 30 km north of the Humen Bridge and 31 km south of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It serves as a critical transport artery connecting Guangdong’s three free trade zones and bridging the "Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou" and "Zhuhai-Zhongshan-Jiangmen" economic clusters.

Project Route

A World-Class "Bridge-Island-Tunnel-Undersea Interchange" Mega Project
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is not only a national key project under China’s 13th Five-Year Plan but also a pivotal infrastructure initiative outlined in the Pearl River Delta Regional Development Plan. Starts at Shenzhen Airport Interchange, Crosses the Lingdingyang westward, Connects to Wanqingsha Interchange (linking to Nanzhong Expressway), Lands at Zhongshan’s Ma’an Island, joining Zhongkai Expressway.

Zhongshan Bridge Highlights

The Crown Jewel: Zhongshan Bridge
The S06 section of the project stands out as the "gem" of this super-engineering marvel. Total length: 1,170 meters; Main span: 580 meters (cable-stayed design); Tower height: 213.5 meters (~70 stories); Design specs: 8-lane expressway (100 km/h speed limit); Highway-Class I load capacity.
